“THE SLOW ROOM” IS BORN

Finally, something that had been in my head for months, was made possible: The Slow Room is born. This idea was spinning so much in my head that instead of feeling like a new idea, it felt like another unfinished task, taking over mental space. The reason being, this beautiful idea of a morning stretch club lacked something, the most obvious, important and hard to find, element: people.

The crew

Not the concept, not the schedule, not the logistics – the crew. The right people who would like to show up one day a week, not because of any alter motive. But because they also want a moment of calm, to acquire the habit of stretching the body and starting the day in connection and harmony. This week it finally happened.

THE SLOW ROOM

Since I stopped teaching dance, I stopped stretching with the regularity I used to. And with which I could perceive all its benefits. It’s one of those things you know you need. The body and mind ask for it. However, as it happens in many aspects of life, without an external commitment, the intention remains merely that. “I’ll do it tomorrow” became weeks without stretching. Or sometimes, I must admit, even months.

So when I finally connected with a group of women who are in the same search as I am. Or at least in one similar enough, for “The Slow Room” to be related to their personal goals, I got very excited.
I decided that I was not going to wait any longer, nor to try to “perfect” the plan. The crew had formed. And together we set the date and time to what was previously a mere intention.

Now that “The Slow Room” is a reality, I am integrating it as part of my creative universe that lives in this blog Celeste Ballerina, and that I decide to share with you.

HOW THE MORNING STRETCHING HABIT THAT I WANT TO BUILD WITH YOU WAS BORN

The first session was yesterday, Thursday, September 24, 2026, 6am Mexico time. I love that it is reflected here – as would a former event in the “socials” section of your local newspaper. An incredible group of 28 women was formed, of which 5 of us managed to log in this first session. And honestly, to be the first time, to be 6 in the morning, and to be something for which none of us are paying, or expecting perfection, I think it’s wonderful.

That’s how we had, in my experience, a very real session. That also marked the beginning of a habit for which I could not advocate enough for. Since I know to benefits first handedly.

I’m already excited to improve the experience week by week. Modify it with what you could tell me you need. Create shared music playlists for the sessions, and any new ideas that can be added to the experience. The goal is to make this space something that each of us can call our own.

Thanks to each one of you who decided to join the club, and especially to those who already logged in that first morning. We didn’t know each other at all, we only knew we shared a path of personal organization, and with that you decided to give this a chance. That’s worth gold to me. I love that we have now this beautiful community, determined to make ourselves uncomfortable because of our goals, get up at 6 in the morning and stretch.

I would love for “The Slow Room” to become our safe space, to which we really want to return every Thursday.

WHAT’S COMING: A POST EVERY FRIDAY, AS IF IT WERE YOUR NEWSLETTER

That we have a WhatsApp group, shows me evidence that I am not alone on this path of connection with ourselves through our morning stretches. Please tell me if you feel the same way. I am convinced that with a crew you can go further than rowing alone.

The fact that this club has come true, is so inspiring me. To the point of wanting to create, the crew’s very own newsletter. Every week I’m going to write a post here on the blog, where I’m going to share what we’re learning about the stretching habit, benefits that are worth knowing, and why not: answers to questions that may arise. In general, everything that is being built around this space.

The next one, in fact, I already have it in mind; top 5 benefits of stretching (spoiler: it’s not just flexibility).

Open Invitation

If you know someone, who you think could use joining this morning stretching club, please spread the word.

If you arrive here by chance and you are not part of “The Slow Room” yet, the invitation is still open.

The Slow Room is free, it’s by Zoom. And all you need is the desire to stretch your body before your day starts.

Please, buy me a coffee…

I’ll always say yes.
