Personal Growth Journey

What small improvement can you make in your life?

Difficult question for someone like me… or for everyone actually?

By “like me” I mean that it is easier for me to do an essay than a summary.

Let’s see, if you told me, what 10 habits can you do to improve your life? Boom… Easy! New Year’s resolutions, the millions of episodes of podcasts or YouTube videos listened to, years of self-reflection and introspection, and any other tool within reach come to light.

WISH LIST

The first thing that comes to mind would perhaps be daily exercise. And if we are looking for a more present and feminine life, it would include synchronizing the type of exercise with my menstrual cycle phase.

Eat better, follow a personalized food plan by a nutritionist.

Improve my journaling technique with better guiding questions. But, not too much, because (as it has happened to me before) it can be counterproductive wanting to perfect a tool that, at least for me, must be for emotional support, your best friend to turn to when you need it, and not a task to fulfill, or a demanding job. Because although sometimes it is wonderful and rewarding to make a beautiful and structured entrance, and even very useful to reflect strategically, if that becomes the standard, the resistance to start will increase (at least, in my case).

Besides, I already write, since, well, I learned to do it. If you don’t, and you’re looking to live in a “slower” and “present” life, I highly recommend it. It’s not that I’m always calm and living in peace, I’m just sharing what works for me to lower the pace if even a bit. Especially as an outlet for my thoughts, because my mind always goes a thousand per hour.

I HAVE THE ANSWER

And maybe in order to share these words, I should do what they usually recommend for social media, niches and such: choose only one thing to improve.

From the wish list, choose only one and stick to it. Defending the reason for that choice as if it were the only thing that makes sense. And try to convince everyone that you are right and know what you are talking about, because “you are sure of your choice.”

But that’s ridiculously false. There is clearly more than one valid answer. It will depend on each being, on their current habits and those yet to be tried.

PERSONAL GROWTH

Setting fixed schedules, I think, is what would have the most positive impact on my life right now. Something that could help me with that, and be an improvement in itself at the same time, would be to divide my day into blocks of time and look for a way to do several of those blocks accompanied.

However, for this, I would have to get creative, since several of those blocks involve work activities and some working hours, but maybe a “body doubling” app could work. As well as choosing a fixed schedule to exercise and people with whom to do so.

And in this same sense, look for strategic alliances with people who could make my ideas happen. This is a small improvement I’ve been working on.

I would love to hear if anyone identifies with any of the ideas I wrote, or if their improvements would be totally different.
